Duties performed by Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Provide basic bedside care
- Take vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration
- Monitor patients and report adverse reactions to medications and treatments
- Collect samples for testing
- Perform routine laboratory tests
- Provide a comfortable environment for patients
- Supervise nursing assistants and aides
Fully-equipped labs with Simulator Manikins
Dawn Career Institute provides labs that are fully equipped with the tools and equipment that you can expect to be using in your job as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In addition, our students train using specialized simulator manikins that offer a realistic training experience. These manikins are used to simulate a variety of scenarios that healthcare professionals may encounter and provide immediate feedback and evaluation on student performance. They’re a valuable tool for students to practice and perfect their skills in a safe and controlled environment!
